Växthuset- plant based gourmet
At Växthuset we explore Stockholm’s only plant based fine dining restaurant, where the chefs experiment with creative ingredients such as tempe, create cool sauces with distinct umami flavours and dishes with beautiful presentations.
At Växthuset you choose between their four or six course tasting menu . We picked of course their 6 course menu- a set of dishes that balanced each other very good.
The locally produced tempe had a lovely texture that melted in our mouths with a balanced smokiness, followed by an amazing cauliflower dish with a perfect sour carrot syrup resembling an egg yolk in a playful way. The dishes also had perfect sizes and included enough protein sources making us really full.
The only dish that lowered our score slightly was the dessert that didn’t impress us with its dry almond cake and a vanilla cream with a unpleasant aftertaste from a dairy-free oats sour cream.
Overall, we were impressed by the menu and left the restautant satisfied and exited to return next time they change their menu.
Växthuset is located under a big concrete bridge and is almost impossible to find if you just happen to pass by. The interior resembles a private dining room with beautiful paintings on the walls and cozy lightening.
They also have a urban farming area where they grove their own plants and herbs.
The waitress was really friendly and service minded. Especially since we got to bring our new born child in a stroller next to our table.
The dishes came out in a perfect intervall and our waitress came up to out table regularly to check if we had every thing we needed.
