Smak- where flavours are in focus
SMAK offers creative & modern seasonal food with a wide range of vegetarian dishes. The famous menu concept is that one flavour represents one dish.
This restaurant is not a newcomer, its been around for almost 20 years and is part of the F12 restaurant group in Stockholm. SMAK means flavour and the menu focuses on seasonal dishes based on one taste idea & flavour. It can be rhubarb and spring onions during the spring or forest mushrooms during the fall.
The restaurant guest selects small dishes from the menu, where three are the minimum recommendation. The dishes are rich in flavour and creative but they are quite small. So make sure you order more than five dishes if you want to feel full and satisfied when leaving the restaurant. Besides that, Smak was a satisfying experience.
THE DISHES WE ORDERED
PECORINO with “Pesto” zucchini, sage & almond
CRESS - "EGG 63" Jerusalem artichoke, mushroom
TARRAGON - ”Pistou” yellow beers, sour cream, dinkel
SESAME - ”Glazed” salt bakad celeriac, ginger, salad
MiNT - “Fattiga riddare” citrus, brioche, cream
From the outside the restaurant doesn’t look inviting but inside you will be surprised. The interior feels exclusive and luxurious with an elegant baroque atmosphere. The restaurant was very crowed when we visited Smak so make sure you book in advance.
There is a Swedish saying: “Good things happen to those who wait”. But when you order small dishes you don’t want to wait too long. This was the case when we visited SMAK. Maybe because is was very crowed. Besides that, the service was good.
