Pommes Creperie- a vegetarian crepes option
This hidden little crêperie situated on the sleepy street Idungatan in central Vasastan in Stockholm is a paradise for all the crepe and galette lovers with vegetarian & vegan options.
Four years ago owner Anna Kvie decided to convert a modest place on Idungatan into a crêperie, in the very same place where a small milk shop was situated more than a century earlier. The picturesque atmosphere in Pomme Crêperie makes you feel at home or at a crêperie somewhere in Normandie near the sea. The galettes and crepes are made with traditionell techniques celebrating the French crepe traditions but at the same time experimenting with new fillings which can be seen especially in the vegan options.
The menu offers:
* savory galettes which are lactose and gluten free and made of ecological buck wheat flour from Värmland
* sweet crepes that also can be made without lactose or gluten upon request. They are made of wheat flour från Hälsingland and are suger free (half of it being stone cut).
* locally produced apple juice from Roslagen which we also can recommend - healthy and made of natural ingredients.
Both galettes and crepes can be made vegan and the menu offers plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Our favorite galettes is the Gröna Bönan/Green Bean with a flavourful and fresh bean pesto and Vasa with a smoky vegan ham and a distinct dijon sauce.
The vegan cheese did however have a unpleasant after taste. A playful homemade cashew cream cheese for example could had raised the vegan dishes to the sky.
Overall we where beyond satisfied with the dishes and service and walked home with a happy feeling that we’d been back in France.
*If you would like to eat at Pomme Crêperie you pre-book the Crêperie for a lunch, dinner, party, champagne brunch/- or tasting for you and your friends or company (groups of 7-16 people).
