Kalf and Hansen- vegan meat balls for the people
KALF & HANSEN-VEGAN MEATBALLS FOR THE PEOPLE
Vegan & Vegetarian friendly | Kalf & Hansen serves organic meatballs with a modern Scandinavian twist. Their vegan meatballs are too die for and served up in innovative dishes with sauces, breads and vegetables that are so rich in flavor. This place makes you want to return time after time after time...
The Father & son project that turned out to be a success story initiated their ecological and locally produced concept in an early stage when the link between food and climate started to grow in Sweden. Fabian and Rune Kalf-Hansen are driven by their passion for food, ecology and environment and have a 100% policy of ecological and locally produced food on their menu. They are also the only restaurant in Stockholm who earned the Swedish KRAV- certification with the highest level of KRAV-certified ingredients, 90%! Since March they also serve their famous meatballs Sweden's largest train company SJ and have another restaurant in Hammarby Sjöstad.
As a vegetarian and vegan you can order every single dish from the menu simply by replacing the meatballs by a vegan version. Or is it really a meatball? They call them quenelles but most restaurant reviews call them fricadelles. Either way, they taste fantanstic. Perfect texture and combination of spices. The dishes are named after Scandinavian capital cities such as Stockholm (served with oven baked vegetables of the season), Oslo (served with the salad of the season) or Copenhagen ( a home made open sandwich). The Copenhagen sandwich is one of their best dishes and resembles a classic Danish "Smorrebrod". After picking a city-dish and type of quenelles you'll choose your own sauce/dressing. The herb oil, mustard dressing and rhubarb chutney are 100% vegan.
