Hermitage- vegetarian buffet in Gamla Stan with no passion
Vegetarian | This is a typical classic vegetarian restaurant from the old "era". It's vegetarian buffet food with a mix of Swedish, Oriental and Mediterranean flavors. Hermitage serves lots of vegetables patties, casseroles and salads where the quality of the dishes pending from good to bad.
This is a typical lunch buffet restaurant and no cozy place to visit for a dinner. The buffet shifts from day to day which is positive but the dishes are not that exiting. The Indian style casseroles have a flat taste and are not cooked in a real traditional Indian way. Along with the casserole we ate that particular day came for example a Swedish traditional beetroot Christmas salad which does not match any other dish on the buffet menu. The filled bell peppar with a nut based filling was however a more playful and tasty dish the chefs should definitely do more often. The dishes could also have been labeled so that customers know what they’re eating.
This restaurant is very small and get's easily packed and it could be quite hard to move around. The location is very good but due to the very small dining area Its better to visit during the summer months when they have an outdoor seating area.
The service is what you can expect. Not bad nor good. The price range for this buffet was also quite expensive; 130 SEK for a rather small selection of dishes.
